HTML 101: Build Your Own Adventure

Think HTML and CSS are something you'd find in alphabet soup? Ever wonder how the web can deliver everything from Minecraft maps to YouTube Videos? Eager to learn and ready to build?

By the end of the session, students will understand how the language HTML, CSS, and Javascript work together to build the web. Students will develop an understanding of how HTML is used to define the structure of web pages. In keeping with We All Code's philosophy of learning-by-doing, students will use their knowledge to hack together their own "Choose Your Own Adventure" game.

This will be a live online class via Zoom.

Technical Requirements

Computer: PC (Windows XP or newer), Mac (OSX 10.7 or newer), or Chromebook with at least a 2GHz processor and 2GB of RAM (4GB of RAM is recommended).

Internet: At least 1.2Mbps download and 600Kbps upload speeds. Go to fast.com to check your speed.

Webcam: Many laptops have an integrated webcam.

Microphone and Speakers: We highly recommend headphones with a built-in microphone, however any microphone and speakers will work in a quiet room.
